Blood Orange & Oat Chocolate Chip Cookies

Blood orange & oat chocolate chip cookies are a fun and fresh twist on your typical chocolate chip cookie! They are made gluten and dairy free and the citrusy taste gives each bite a fresh, bright taste.

If you’re a fan of thin and crispy cookies this recipe is definitely for you! Thin, crispy, and chewy with a slight orange zest, this fun recipe makes for the perfect healthier treat to have on hand.

The texture of these cookies reminds me of Tate’s Cookies — you know the thin and crispy ones in the green bag you can find at grocery stores?! Those are seriously my favorite and dangerous to keep around the house! The good news is these cookies are a tad healthier and super easy to make!

To be honest, I’ve never been a huge fan of citrus fruits until this year! I don’t know what it was about them in the past, I just never really craved or cared to eat them. That all changed when I had a blood orange recently and it got me thinking how I could use them in a fun way for dessert which is how these cookies came about!

Made with simple ingredients, not a lot of sugar and delicious blood orange dark chocolate, you’ll love each and every bite of these cookies. This recipe is also a smaller batch than your standard 12 — it only makes 8 cookies, which is nice when you don’t want a huge batch of cookies lying around all week.
